Updated: Jul 7, 2023

In a remarkable display of skill and dominance, Kye Kelley secured his second consecutive victory in the "Street Outlaws No Prep Kings" series, solidifying his early lead in both the individual and team standings. The triumph took place at the Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota, where Kelley once again defeated Damon Merchant in an intense final round showdown. This season, Kelley made a significant engine change, opting for a screw-supercharged Hemi and piloting a brand-new Buick Regal built by Wizard Race Cars. With a season record of 12-1 and an overall team score of 25-10, Kelley's performance has been nothing short of exceptional.

He also acknowledged the tremendous efforts of Wizard Race Cars in constructing an exceptional hot rod. Kelley extended his appreciation to the companies and individuals who believe in and support his racing program, recognizing their contribution to his success. With the momentum firmly on his side, Kelley looks ahead to the next challenge in Bowling Green, ready to keep the winning streak alive.

Notably, Ryan Martin, the reigning three-time No Prep Kings series champion and current co-points leader in the Great 8, faced a surprising turn of events. For the first time in his career, Martin failed to qualify for the invitational, following an early exit in Virginia that forced him to race his way into the event at Brainerd. Unfortunately, Martin was defeated by Jerry Bird in the crucial match, missing out on one of the four lucky spots in Saturday's main event. Similarly, "Daddy Dave" Comstock also did not make the program, resulting in both racers being tied for 28th place in the individual points standings. Despite this setback, their teams maintain impressive winning records, with Comstock's team ranking second to Kye Kelley's, boasting an 18-12 record.

The No Prep Kings series will resume this weekend at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky, marking the fourth race out of the 14 scheduled for season six.
